Writing copy while “social distancing.” You can still stay close to your listeners.

In times like these music makes us all feel better and radio offers something extra that playlists can’t: emotions, empathy and shared human experiences…we’re all in this together.  While it’s never wise to joke about serious stuff, a tasteful, well-written sweeper can speak to the new daily experiences that we all have in common.  Here are a few (hopefully) non-offensive script ideas from SPLAT!  Feel free to use these, edit, adapt, improvise, improve, etc. Most of these scripts can work for just about any radio format.

Social distancing might keep us apart, but the music brings us closer together.

In the age of social distancing, we encourage you to get closer. On Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Stay in touch.

We’re out of hand sanitizer and wipes, but we have the most music in town.

We suggest washing your hands for the length of this next song.

We encourage you to keep your hands clean. You don’t even have to touch your radio. Just tell your smart speaker, “play my favorite station”

Divided by social distancing, united by sports.  This is where we can still gather to talk, and we’re taking your calls now. (for a sports station, of course)

NIKE + MIKE = WIN

SPLAT! congratulates Mike Carrell from KFNC Houston.  Mike was the big winner of the iconic Nike Blazer sneakers custom designed by the SPLAT! team.  Mike decided to go with the red kicks! New site, new sounds, new SPLAT!

As you no doubt already know, you’re visiting the new SPLAT! website.  It’s the culmination of more than a year of gaining feedback from SPLAT! stations, designing the site to user specifications, building, coding, testing, etc.  Now, here we are.

The new website is faster, more streamlined and easier to navigate.  It features improvements like automated zips, infinite scroll, predictive search, unlimited favorite lists and tons of other functions to make your job easier and faster.
